OK, so as most paranormal investigators do, I keep up with the world of the paranormal. I read anything I can get my hands on because, as said by a philosopher, "Knowledge is Power". My theory is that you can never have enough knowledge, especially in this field where everything constantly changes and nothing is exact. Along with reading, I also watch just about anything paranormal related, especially documentary based.
So Sci-Fi began its new series called "The Real Exorcist", and as always, I'm game. I do have to admit that I began watching with a somewhat biased negative opinion of Bob Larson, the exorcist that I've become familiar with over time. I figured "what the heck", I'll give him a chance... again. Well I did, and I have to say that I was less than impressed.
Bob Larson has been shrouded in controversy for quite some time now. He accepts public donations for his ministry, donations that have made it possible for him to have become a multi-millionaire. Now don't get me wrong, I have no problem with someone making a living; Hell, even getting rich. It's what we're all ultimately after, isn't it? But throw in the typical bad image of evangelists and the negative publicity that Larson has received and you have an ugly mixture. The money part of it does bother me since he accepts public donations. And because of accepting these donations, the public has a right to know where their money is going... or who's pocket it's going in. But for me, what's worse is the work he does and the image of the paranormal world that he is contorting.
It's fine to travel around helping those in need. But were all these people... all 6,000 of them... really possessed by a demonic entity? No way! He method of operation bears a striking resemblance to that of another phoney... Benny Hinn. Both of these shams use the same technique. They use subtle mind altering methods to move your subconscious into the realm of the world they want you to be in. Both want... need you to believe that you're mindy, body and soul have drifted; In the case of Larson, into the darkness... into hell. Sure, Benny Hinn lays claim to healing thousands of people, even healing quadriplegics and showing the world their first step in many years. Only these so-called disabled individuals have been proven time and time again to be nothing more than low-paid actors.
Now Bob Larson has another a rather intelligent gameplan. He uses his exposure to promote the illusion of demonic possession which, in turn, sends more of the "opressed" his way. More healings, more exposure, more people calling for help and more followers equals....... more loot in his pocket. This is the real name of the game for him. Sure, he is a verified member of the clergy. Sure, he has a ministry. Sure he has tons of loyal patrons. And yep, he has tons of money made the wrong way.
Now lets look at the other side of the rotten apple: Can you imagine what Larson's game does to the world of the paranormal? We have a difficult enough time trying prove what we believe exists. We encounter "real" people with "real" problems... and one's who are or have been truly opressed by a demonic force. What does this do and how does it make the "real" exorcists, the devoted priests, look in the public's eye? And are we gonna have a surge of people running around claiming they're possessed? Are we gonna have people looking for their 5 minutes of fame for being on a TV show? Are we gonna have more imposters ride in on the curtails of the success of TAPS? Well, of course we are. And this just makes our job harder. It also opens the door for more fraudulent claims, which result in a loss of our time and money. Am I alone in my line of thinking?
I would love for you all to do some research on your own regarding Bob Larson and post back with your results and opinions. Also, please don't provide this worthless imposter with another regular viewer... or should I say fool. In the meantime, check out the two videos below.

Yes, I did see it, and thought it was a very good episode. It was an hour long, which is great!
I really like Paranormal State and Ryan's group. I've read SO much bashing of them, mostly by people who say TAPS are the real thing and Penn State PRS are fakes.
I have a lot of respect for TAPS and what Grant and Jason have done for the field, but there's nothing wrong with having more than one good group out there in tv land.
Anyway, back to the show. I thought it was pretty convincing for those that don't believe in demons or demonic possession.The girl puzzled me at first and I wasn't really sure if she was possibly mentally disturbed. I guess I'm still not convinced that she didn't have some major problems going on besides the possession. Maybe there were problems from the start that led to the possession, which could've opened the door.
I do remember her saying that she did some evp sessions and she thought that may have let something in... which it didn't. I've never heard of negative consequences from an evp session.
Anyway, it was really interesting, especially since Chip picked up on certain things. The writing on the wall in the closet: Not sure what to make of that one either.
Hopefully they will do a follow-up.

I thought it was pretty bold actually. Unfortunately I missed the first half hour. I too wondered about the girl's mental state, but Ryan mentioned something about her being checked out by a psychologist (some of what I saw looked a lot like Schizophrenics I have encountered)...
I am with you on the EVP thing. I once asked Keith Johnson what the difference is between an Ouija Board and using tools like digital recorders or the Ovilus. He said the major difference is that with an Ouija Board, you are inviting something to physically move you to create the phenomena. With the others, there is no implied invitation (unless you grant one) or internal interaction - the demon, ghost or whatever does not have to manipulate you to communicate. I really quite like that.

Now I'm really jealous! I've yet to meet Keith. He's one person I have a ton of respect for and am waiting for the chance to meet and learn from him.
What he told you makes perfect sense. I've always thought that you couldn't actually be possessed unless you open yourself up one way or another, either an open invitation or allowing your will to be weakened.
I also agree with you about the girl showing some pretty convincing signs of schizophrenia. That's one area that's always been difficult to me - the difference between schizophrenia or actual demonic possession. Guess that's why leave those areas to the experts.

The problem with Bob Larson and his " exorcisms" is that what you see is not fully what actually went on. Mainly because he's a fake. The Paranormal Preacher Darrel Gene Motal has a nuumber of audios on You Tube about Larson, including three people who went through his " exorcisms" and what really happened to them,which is not as Larson presented.
I have a number of problems with the blog here about Larson. As a Larson watcher since 1985 I know quite a bit about Larson. His " ministry" credentials come from a mail order diploma mill. IOW he's a minister in name, not in training. The blogger also failed to mention that Larson requires all his exorcism " clients" that he filmed for his TV series to sign a legal document before he even agrees to " help" them". Most of his " exorcism" seminars are in hotel conference rooms and rarely in churches because of certain questionable dealings he has done over the years, including ethical and moral ones. The blogger did not mention that the series you saw on the Sci-Fi Channel is for the most part what he aired in the UK on Virgin1 before the viewers complained and his series was canceled there. Larson earlier this year had casting calls for this series, actually posted online.
Simply put what Larson does is for greed and fame. He " cares" when it benefits him. if you actually study the subject of demons and exorcism, you can plainly see Larson is manipulating people, not actually exorcising demons. In fact on CNN while he was on a Christian minister was asked about him and he said what Larson did was unbiblical, Larson's response on his won web site was a panic money-raising letter where he offered his " response" via DVD for " donations" of $30 or more.
The guy is a fraud, a liar, a manipulative, self-serving, greedy person who is conning everyone he can for money and fame.

But one thing: You seem that you're disagreeing with my post about Larson. Actually, my post was aimed at letting everyone know that Larson is indeed a crook, a swindler and a fake. I'm on your side pal!
No, I didn't provide a ton of info about him, but that will come at a later time on a dedicated site that we're building strictly aimed at trying to prove exactly what he is. My post was meant to be brief and to the point... in an attempt to get viewers to do research on him and see for themselves.

Also I do agree with everything you have posted..I KNOW what he is and what he does..actually,..if you get ahold of the Paranormal Preacher on youtube in my subscribers list..He has shown and GIVEN me alot of information and the encounters HE had with him and actually secretly taped BL in a "training conference" and 2 hours of the first tape BL was asking nothing but MONEY MONEY MONEY!! Then he went up to him to get a exorcism done and BL had HIM removed from the conference,,
I do KNOW because of personal experience (I am not sure what it is tho -hypnotism maybe subconsciously ) when he gets real close to you and stares you in the eyes,,closer closer closer,,there is a moment your in trance like state mind..(strange) and now he makes you feel he is talking to a demon OR a MMD,,, and I have NO clue what he is doing...But..I agree with you and would LOVE to help in anyway possible with all your efforts,,I also (on you tube) his financial records have been exposed showing his "net income" that the Paranormal Preacher (I am sure you know him Rev Motal) has given me and exposed his LIES on his INCOME!!
Yes he has millions of course he does..for someone charging 295.00 weekly for pieces of papers for training and 500.00 an hour to be told you have MMD...he is well taken care of..But yes..he has profited of peoples demise and sicknesses and abuse and trauma!

But I say if you know or understand body language, and believe it has some merit, you'll quickly recognize the tell-tale signs and pick up on the signals that tell you a 'victim' is possibly lying.But take everything with a grain of salt,I say.Go get exorcised fake all the moves,and see what happens.And only Catholic priests can do it? Here we are...We hear voices in our minds...true? A 'good' influencing voice and a 'bad' tempting voice.True? Why do we hear these voices in our minds? Where do thoughts and great ideas come from? Something,or someone designed all we see in nature,the universe,etc,be it a Deity,or an alien confederation.As someone designed and created all we see, chairs,computers etc.What we think we become,or what we choose to do,whether good or bad,carry consequences,payback for bad deeds or rewards for good actions.
hello guys i just happened to stumble upon this site, when i was lookig for exrcism supplies im telling you these things are hard to find. i meen i have my bible and things but im looking for some crosses (mine were stollen). but the thing i would like to comment on here is rev. bob larson, yes i know he is a fake, but i have to admit that i know of several people he has helped . yeah he thought he was rippig them off, and infact he was but just the general process he went through actualy did help them. were these people possesed? no they were not but they did believe they were and just that beliefe was causing some major problems in theire lives. and no matter how fake mr. larson is, these people actualy believed that the demons were driven back to hell and tey were set free, and are now living normal productive lives. i am an ordained minister , and also an exorcist, i do strongly believe in the power of the almighty god driving demons from a person or a place. i do not believ posession is as common as mr. larson would have us believ. i dont really go for the whole catholic exorcism ritual, does that meen i believe it is fake and that it doesnt work? no i do believe they are real and i do believe they work, i just dont believe the whole ritual is called for to banish a demon back to the pits of hell, but god bless catholics, and theire beliefs i do have several priest who are dear friends of mine, we just share diffrent beliefs. i believe that a person called by god to preform exorcisms does not need all the fancy ritual or the robes, truely i use the exact same things you will see mr. larson using a cross, my bible, and some holy oil. and the power of the almighty god. i believe that the exorcism you saw on paranormal state, was verry real, however i do believe that i could have had it done and over with alot quicker and the young lady would have not gone through as much as she did durring the one that happened, but prais god she is free now just the same. i am hoping to joi a paranormal team some time in the future if i could find one in my area, and just basicl show that catholics are not the only ones blessed with this ability to cast out demons, i know not every one is given that gift, but yo dont have to be a catholic priest either. thanks guys for reading, god bless you all, if any one ould like to contact me i am on yahoo messenger at (the_exocutioner) look forward to hearing from you keep up the great work on this site.
