I've been following Zack Bagans and his crew for the past year, and have been quite impressed with them. What I like and admire so much about these guys is that they operate with just the basics: camcorders, digital recorders and a FLIR camera here and there. What makes this so nice is that these are tools of the trade that are actually within reach of most paranormal investigators (except for the crazy expensive FLIR). This just goes to show that you don't have to have every new gadget that comes out and don't have to have the luxury of and enormous budget to get the job done. Operating this way gives confidence to those who are just starting out with very little money to spare.
Besides this, I love their tactics and techniques. And I love how they are able to get some awesome evidence with just the basics. Jason and Grant are fantastic and have done so much to further the study of the paranormal and I have a ton of respect for them. But... since they have been fortunate enough to have gotten as big as they are, their budget also grew, allowing them to afford the latest and greatest gear. I think that every day investigators can relate more to Zack and his crew because of their no-frills, basic approach.
Anyway, I just love these guys and love watching them in action. And if any of you missed the Riddle House episode, you missed one hell of an investigation. Definitely check the guide and make sure you catch it during the reruns on The Travel Channel. In the meantme, check out this awesome live chat recorded earlier.
Happy Hunting to all!

I love Zack's dramatics - or should I say intensity. :) I really hate to ask this question (I really should know), but what is an FLIR camera?
Hey Ellie!
No problem. FLIR stands for Forward Looking Infrared. It's a type of camera that forms the video by detecting and displaying thermal energy. It's sort-of a night vision camera that displays flucuations in temperature. On TV, when you see TAPS using a camera that shows them a screen with different colors, that's the FLIR.
Thanks for the comment... and take care!

I've always believed in the show. But i have a few people that say its 'tv' and refuse to believe its real.
. . . Now i think it would be a great idea if they brought a dog with them. Just because dogs have amazing senses (bad energy would send them running , unless its a tough dog, It'll probably bark) and would pick up on a lot of things faster then there equipment. Though if you followed them around you would pass on this idea just for a try.
The wimpier the dog the quieter he would be.
an idea that just makes sense to me, i know animals and energies so ya. Thanks!

Was wondering what the right approach would be to get a job working with these guys or some other established paranormal researcher. Would like to join a team like this and over time write a book about it. I am a computer programmer and am good with gadgets but I don't have any experience in the field but would like to know how one could get started.
http://tmwprt.com Now WE ARE REAL! Not a group of TV Actors with prexisting conditions! soooooo FAKE almost puts a true damper on what we do for real! although Zack and Aaron do make me laugh!....DUDE
I think Ghost Adventures ARE real. Just because someone has a paranormal tv shows does not automatically mean they are fake. If your group had the chane to do a tv show, you know you take it. And if you did, would that make YOU unreal... fake???
C'mon, you have no proof that GA is fake. Saying so is just being stupid.
hello everyone i have been living in the same house for about 3 years now. in the last two years we have had pictures thrown across the room and just a whole lot of other stuff. me and my mom were into ghost hunters at this time (ghost advantures is better) and i have always wanted to do EVP and try and get ghost on a recorder so we took a recorder and we ask a lot of questions and got some messed up respones. at one point we ask if it was man, woman or child and we got a creepy little voice say very very fast "you will never know" it was so fast we had to slow it down on our computer. now what ever is in my house does not like me. it has thrown a key board at me, bouncy balls, candles is the most recent thing. this might sound crazy but i want to know how i can piss them off even more and get them to throw more stuff at me so i can get it on video for proof. i have tried prevoking and thats what really started the throwing but now i dont know what elsa to do to make them really pissed. we are moving out in a few days so i want to do this before i do......got any suggrestions?
